I’m an owner of a 2015 ZX10R, I have not ridden any newer ZX10R model after having one of my own as I wasn’t the type that change bikes like how you would change your pants, neither was it compelling to even test ride the newer models.  This was compounded by me not being a track junkie. “Upgrading” to a newer model hasn’t been in my radar. But I do crave going around corners and windy roads, with utmost care that is.

I’ve at least tried once most of the Malaysian Peninsular so called famous corner-filled roads. To name a few, Bukit Tinggi, Genting Sempah, Semenyih-Kuala Klawang and Fraser’s Hill (the most demanding route). The road is single lane and are typically filled with cars on the weekends so you have to plod around really slow speed to get to the top of Fraser’s Hill.

HONG LEONG YAMAHA Reveals PETRONAS SRT Livery For Lagenda 115Z

In commemoration of Malaysia’s First MotoGP Team, the PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team (“SRT”), Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd (“HLYM”) launched a limited GP edition Yamaha Lagenda 115Z with PETRONAS Yamaha SRT livery.

The limited edition with full SRT livery cover set features the PETRONAS Yamaha SRT in the MotoGP Championship. This design is inspired by the PETRONAS SRT’s Yamaha YZR-M1 machine which is ridden by MotoGP riders, Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo.

KAWASAKI Malaysia Launches New Genuine Oil Products

Since the first introduction of Kawasaki Genuine Oil (“KGO”) last year in November, Kawasaki Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“KMMSB”) launches a new product line up with higher grade of lubricant over the Malaysian MotoGP weekend at Sepang International Circuit.

The latest products presented are Torq R7, and Torq R9, a fully synthetic four-stroke 10W-40 API-SN and fully synthetic four-stroke 10W-50 API-SN rated lubricant respectively. Both products come with 100% PAO base oil content. PAO stands for Polyalphaolefin is by far the most common major synthetic based oil used in industrial and automotive lubricant. The PAO is chemically designed to withstand high temperatures and stress without sacrificing the engine’s performance.

It will also be introduced globally in phases beginning with India and Thailand in first quarter 2020, followed by Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries thereafter.


In commemoration of Yamaha’s participation in the MotoGP Championship, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd (“HLYM”) introduced the 2019 YZF-R15 Monster.

The latest graphics scheme was replicated based on the actual Yamaha Factory Racing YZF-M1 Race Blu with black color scheme ridden by Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales in the 2019 season.

Owners of this limited edition unit will also receive Certificate of Ownership inscribed with the engine and chassis details of the motorcycles.

The recommended basic selling price is RM 12,618.00 and is available from May 24 2019 onwards at authorised dealers nationwide.

NEWS: New Colours for YAMAHA YZF-R15

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn. Bhd. (“HLYM”) has announced 3 new colours for the YZF-R15.

The YZF-R15 is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, 4 valves plus the fuel-efficient technology Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), mated to a six-speed gearbox, producing 19hp and 14.7nm of torque. It also comes standard with upside-down forks and Assist & Slipper clutch to help downshifts smoother and prevents locking up the rear wheel.

The three new colours are Race Blu, Yellow, and Black.

The basic selling price remains unchanged at RM 11,988.00, excluding insurance, roadtax, and any other fees and is now available at all authorised dealers nationwide.
